Inter Milan star Marcus Thuram turned heads, by way of a round of comments in the aftermath of his side’s meeting with Barcelona.
Inter of course made the trip to Catalunya’s capital on Wednesday night, for the first leg of a Champions League semi-final tie.
When all was said and done in a pulsating affair, the Nerazzurri battled their way to a hard-fought share of the spoils, in a 3-3 stalemate.
Post-match, stealing the headlines was Barcelona sensation Lamine Yamal, who conjured up nothing short of a remarkable performance against Inter.
Some, in fact, went as far as to label the 17-year-old world football’s best player in the game’s aftermath.
Speaking to the media during his own post-match exchange at Montjuïc, such claims were in turn put to the aforementioned Marcus Thuram.
The Frenchman, however, was not shy in revealing an altogether different take, pointing towards a pair of fellow countrymen as the game’s very best at present:
‘“Lamine Yamal the best player in the world? The best player in the world is French. And the 2nd best is French too. Ousmane Dembélé & Kylian Mbappé. After them, Lamine.”
