Aston Villa welcomed Nottingham Forest at Villa Park earlier this evening as they focused on securing a convincing win in front of their home fans. The Villans made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the 13th minute when Morgan Rogers got his name on the scoresheet. Donyell Malen doubled the home side’s advantage just a couple of minutes. Unai Emery’s men were dominant in the first half and went into the half-time break 2-0 up on the scoreline.

Jota Silva got a goal back for the visitors in the 57th minute but the Villans hung on to their narrow advantage and earned a solid 2-1 win at Villa Park.

Onana offered decent protection for his teammates at the back and was replaced in the 61st minute.
