Manchester United will welcome Manchester City at Old Trafford this Sunday evening as they hope to earn all three points at home in the Premier League. The Red Devils suffered a poor 1-0 loss away at Nottingham Forest recently, so they would be eager to put in a much-improved performance in the Manchester derby this weekend.

Ruben Amorim will set his players up in a 3-4-2-1 formation and is expected to make a couple of changes to his first XI for this game. Both Harry Maguire and Rasmus Hojlund could get a chance to impress from the start of this contest.

Defence

Andre Onana will feature in between the sticks for the Red Devils after shipping in one goal in his last outing. Amorim could opt for a back three of Noussair Mazraoui, Matthijs de Ligt and Harry Maguire as they try to keep things solid at the back during the game.

Leny Yoro will offer cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Midfield

Christian Eriksen will anchor the midfield alongside Manuel Ugarte as they look to make life tough for the opposition at the centre of the park. Both of them need to retain possession well if the Red Devils are to create enough chances to win this Manchester derby.

Patrick Dorgu will fill in as the left-sided wide player while Diogo Dalot hopes to catch the eye on the right flank.

Bruno Fernandes and Alejandro Garnacho will function as Amorim’s attacking midfielders as they focus on engineering some decent chances in the final third.

Casemiro and Mason Mount will have to settle for a place on the bench and might come on to make an impact in the second 45 minutes if required.

Attack

Rasmus Hojlund will lead the line for the Mancunian giants up top. He has to find a way to be a constant menace in the Man City half.

Joshua Zirkzee might drop to the bench as he waits for his chance to shine in the final quarter of the game if Man United are in need of a goal by then.
