Man United planning summer move for Ballon d’Or contender but may have to pay £101m

Manchester United are planning a big money move for one of the best players in the summer transfer window.

The Red Devils are ready to invest in their squad after a poor season in the Premier League and the cup competitions.

Ruben Amorim’s side may still end up winning the Europa League but it is clear that they need reinforcements in almost all positions.

A number of players are likely to leave the club in the summer including Brazilian winger Antony who is currently on loan at Real Betis as well as Kobbie Mainoo who is refusing to sign a new contract at the club.

According to Fichajes, Barcelona winger Raphinha, who is being targeted by Man United, is going to cost the Premier League giants a whopping €120m (£101m).

This is the price tag set for the Brazilian winger by the Spanish giants who have reportedly decided to sell the winger only if they receive that offer.

Raphinha is a versatile player who is leading the charge for Barcelona La Liga title this season as well as performing well in the Champions League this season.

The 28-year-old has scored 27 goals this season and provided 20 assists for the Spanish giants.

As suggested by Barcelona boss Hansi Flick, Raphinha is one of the candidates to win the Ballon d’Or this year.

It remains to be seen if United are willing to offer that amount for the former Leeds United man.

Surely the club would need to raise significant amount of funds to finance their transfer business in the summer.

It is going to be a crucial summer transfer window for Amorim and the club and it could set the tone for future seasons. Hopefully the club will make the right decisions.
