Manchester United are reportedly targeting a shock move for Freddy Woodman.
The goalkeeper was previously touted as a future first-team starter for Newcastle United after being part of England's Under-20 World Cup winning squad in 2017.
But Woodman made just four senior appearances at St James' Park before moving onto Preston North End, where he has featured more than 100 times for the club.
Now 28, he is currently set to depart the Championship outfit this summer which has opened up the possibility of a move to Ruben Amorim's side on a free transfer.
If signed, Woodman is expected to arrive as the Red Devils' replacement for third-choice stopper Tom Heaton, who is also out of contract at the end of June.
