Manchester United have made a bold transfer decision on Marus Rashford, who is currently on loan at Aston Villa.

The 27-year-old homegrown boy fell out of favour with Ruben Amorim, and he was dropped from the playing squad. He was sent on loan to Villa in the January window.

Rashford has impressed for Villa in such a short time that he earned a call-up to the national team in March. Thomas Tuchel used him in the starting line-up for England in the 2-0 win over Albania this week.

That will not have any impact on his future at Old Trafford, which looks as good as over.

According to a report from the Sunday Mirror (page 80), Amorim is not willing to offer Rashford a Manchester United lifeline this summer.

The Red Devils boss is far from impressed with Rashford’s attitude, and there is no way back for him at United.

Man Utd set asking price for Rashford

The report claims that Old Trafford bosses will seek a permanent deal with Villa for Rashford in the region of £60m.

Villa are keen to sign him permanently in the summer window. They will have to pay a premium fee for the England striker, who has a contract at Old Trafford until 2028.

Since moving away from Man Utd, Rashford has rediscovered some of his best form and he is enjoying his game again.

Rashford has made over 425 appearances for United, and has scored 138 goals for them in all competitions.

The best move for all parties involved?

Amorim will look to sign a proven goalscorer this summer, and shipping out Rashford, who is not in the manager’s plans, makes a lot of sense.

He is one of Old Trafford’s high earners. If they can secure a deal for anything near £60m, it would represent a very smart business move.

United hope Rashford continues to impress at Villa, which will further increase his transfer value.

Rashford has been a great servant for the club over the years, but it appears that he may have played his last game for United already.
