Marcus Rashford ascension under Aston Villa needs to be permanent

Marcus Rashford is seeing a career revival for himself at Aston Villa under Unai Emery. The Manchester United academy product is out of favor since the mid-season managerial changes. Ruben Amorim has expressed some potential concerns surrounding the 27-year-old in his system in the past. As of this moment, however, the loan move appears to be heavily working in the forward's favor.

Regardless of how deserving or otherwise Rashford was sent away from his old club, the Midlands side is benefiting from his services. Since joining earlier this year, the current loanee has two assists during Premier League play and one in the Champions League. More importantly, he is looking more comfortable in Birmingham.

His increased quality since joining Emery even garnered the attention of England manager Thomas Tuchel. Since being left out of the national team roster for approximately a year and missing Euro 2024, this is seen as a positive development for Rashford. He will look to make a difference against Albania and Latvia.

With the rest of the Premier League fixtures, FA Cup, and Champions League, Villa will hope to see Rashford's continued good run after the international break. This is raising an important choice to be made by the club, as the 2024-2025 campaign comes to an end.

Looming Aston Villa decision getting more difficult

Part of the reason a player is often sent away on loan is because others are filling his current spot. Save to see, if someone is in good form, there typically isn't a need to send them away. Rashford playing better is now raising his value and Man Utd's asking price.

It is important, though, to remember that certain skill sets fit better in different systems. The relationship between the talent and manager can also have a large role in success on the pitch. Growing up through the United academy system, it just may be time for him to call Villa Park home.

Going far in Europe and potentially making other transactions could make his permanent signing more feasible. It is an important aspect to consider for the president of football operations, Monchi. The Spaniard will likely look to keep both the English player and Marco Asensio for the upcoming season.

Those are worries, however, for another day. For now, Rashford needs to keep staying at a high level for both Tuchel and Emery. If this raises his market value even more, so be it. That is a great problem for Monchi and Aston Villa to have.
