Napoli striker Romelu Lukaku admits that his old team Inter Milan are the favourites to win the Serie A title this season.
The Belgian spoke to Italian broadcaster Radio Crc, via FCInterNews. He argued that the Nerazzurri’s squad depth and quality favours them in the run-in of the title race.
The Serie A title race remains tight.
Unlike the last couple of seasons, there has not been one team that has been head and shoulders above the rest.
The two teams currently at the top of the table are Inter – who won the title by nearly twenty points last campaign – and Napoli – who won it by a similar margin two years ago.
However, just before the international break, the momentum went the way of the Nerazzurri.
Napoli stuttered to a goalless draw against Venezia.
Meanwhile, Inter beat Atalanta 2-0 in a potential title six-pointer.
Those results left the Nerazzurri six points ahead of Atalanta. And three ahead of Napoli.
Belgian international striker Romelu Lukaku has won the Serie A title with Inter.
And now, the 31-year-old former Chelsea and Manchester United is hoping to do the same with Napoli.

However, Lukaku feels that this time out, “Inter are the favourites.”
“Everyone says so,” he added.
“They have a squad with a lot of depth, and a lot of quality,” Lukaku argued. “We have to be honest.”
Then, the striker said that “Atalanta have had a great journey.”
“Last season they won the Europa League. And this season they’re growing even more.”
Romelu Lukaku admitted that Napoli “want to have our revenge.”
“No one expected us to find ourselves in this position,” he argued. “But we’re here, and we have to keep working hard.”
