Cesc Fabregas has been linked with the AC Milan job in recent weeks, and he responded to the speculation during a press conference.
Milan are expected to move on from Sergio Conceicao at the end of the season, even if the Portuguese coach is trying his best to rally the squad for a strong finish to the season, with a European spot and the Coppa Italia remaining as objectives.
One of the names that has been mentioned as his potential replacement is Fabregas. Corriere dello Sport even went so far as to say that he is the ‘dream’ candidate in the eyes of the management, even if he is strongly tied to his current side Como.
Just 48 hours before the match against Lecce, Fabregas spoke during his pre-match press conference and he responded to a question about whether Milan or Roma have called him.
“No, no one has called me, I repeat that I’m only focused on Como. But I haven’t received any direct calls, I assure you,” he said (via Calciomercato.com).
Fabregas is still early in his managerial career, but the way that his Como side have played in their first season back in Serie A has certainly turned some heads.
