Newcastle United clashed heads with Aston Villa at Villa Park earlier this evening as they hoped to grind out a decent result on the road in the Premier League. The Magpies made a horror start to the game as they conceded the opening goal in the first minute when Ollie Watkins got his name on the scoresheet. However, the visitors equalised in the 18th minute thanks to Fabian Schar’s goal. Both teams went into the half-time break with a 1-1 scoreline.

Ian Maatsen gave his team the lead in the 64th minute. Dan Burn scored an unfortunate own goal just nine minutes later. Amadou Onana ended up securing the points for the home side in the 75th minute as the Tyneside club crashed to a poor 4-1 loss away from home.
