This week promises to be a special one for Raul Asencio as he gears up for a potential debut for the Spanish national team.
Along with Real Madrid target Dean Huijsen, Asencio is one of two young talented defenders poised to make their debuts when Spain take on the Netherlands in the UEFA Nations League quarterfinals.
In the lead-up to Spain’s Nations League matches, Raul Asencio spoke to El Chiringuito, where he notably talked about his ambitions and future at Real Madrid.
“I want to renew and stay at Real Madrid for many years,” said Asencio, who has been the rising star in the Real Madrid camp this season.
A centre-back by trade, the youngster took advantage of Real Madrid’s injury crisis in the defensive unit to become a first-team regular at the club.
Asencio’s top performances even earned him a maiden call-up to the national team. The player has no desire to leave La Roja camp anytime soon either.

When asked where does he see himself in ten years, Asencio replied, “At Real Madrid and the Spanish national team. I want to be here.”
Talking about his ambitions at Real Madrid, Asencio admitted that he wants to win the Champions League with Los Blancos.
“My dream is to win the Champions League with Real Madrid,” said the defender, who played a key role in helping Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid and Manchester City.
One would expect Asencio to once again play an integral role in the Real Madrid backline when they take on Arsenal in the quarterfinals.
But for now, Asencio’s focus will be with the Spanish national team, where the defender must take full advantage of any opportunity he gets.
