Real Madrid star emerges as a doubt for Valencia clash | OneFootball

A leading member of the first-team ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is considered a doubt to feature in the club’s upcoming meeting with Valencia.

That’s according to COPE, who point towards Thibaut Courtois as the player in question.

Goalkeeper Courtois, for his part, missed out over the weekend, as Real Madrid kicked their campaign back into gear courtesy of a 3-2 La Liga downing of Leganés.

The Belgian was forced into a premature departure from international duty last week, owing to a muscular injury, and is yet to return to training as a result.

Courtois has since been left out of Carlo Ancelotti’s matchday squad to face Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey on Tuesday night, too.

And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, his absence may extend yet further.

As per a report from COPE:

‘Courtois is doubtful for Saturday’s match against Valencia.’
