Real Madrid’s upcoming UEFA Champions League quarter-final clash against Arsenal has taken an intriguing turn, with the English club receiving positive news regarding the availability of their star player, Bukayo Saka, reports SPORT.

Arsenal will face Real Madrid over two legs, with the first match scheduled for April 8 at the Emirates Stadium and the return leg set for April 16 at the Santiago Bernabeu.

For Arsenal, the return of Saka comes as a significant boost ahead of the high-stakes encounter.

The talented winger has been sidelined for nearly three months following surgery for a hamstring injury he suffered on December 21.

During his absence, Arsenal had to cope without one of their most creative and dynamic attacking players, missing him for 19 matches.

A boost for Arsenal

Saka’s recovery could be the lifeline Arsenal need to boost their European ambitions. While the Premier League title appears out of reach, Mikel Arteta’s side is pushing to reach the Champions League semi-finals for the first time since 2009.

Having Saka back in the fold enhances Arsenal’s attacking options and gives them a greater chance of challenging Real Madrid’s defensive resilience.

The English winger participated in his first full training session this Thursday since undergoing surgery.

His progress has been closely monitored by Arsenal’s medical team, and his return to the training ground will be a welcome sight for Arteta and the Gunners’ fanbase.

Plenty of time before the Real Madrid test

Before the Champions League clash, Arsenal will face Fulham in the Premier League, with Saka’s inclusion in the matchday squad a realistic possibility.

If he makes the squad against Fulham, it would offer him a valuable opportunity to regain match sharpness.

Arsenal also have a subsequent fixture against Everton, which could serve as another test for Saka’s fitness before the high-profile encounter with Real Madrid.

Despite Saka’s promising recovery, Arsenal still have concerns over other key players. Gabriel Martinelli and Kai Havertz, two pivotal starters for Arteta’s side, have been ruled out of the upcoming matches.

Additionally, Riccardo Calafiori suffered a knee injury during the recent international break, and his availability for the Champions League quarter-final remains uncertain.
