Paris Saint-Germain will return to the French capital with a one-goal advantage after edging Arsenal 1–0 on Tuesday night at Emirates Stadium in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semifinal.
The Parisians made a strong start, with Ousmane Dembélé finishing a move he started just four minutes in. He passed the ball to Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, who cut inside the box and returned it with the outside of his foot. Dembélé then met the pass with a low shot that grazed the post on its way in.
Arsenal thought they had equalized later in the match, but a VAR review ruled the goal out, leaving PSG in control as they head into the return leg in Paris.

Both teams had their share of missed opportunities, but heading into the second leg, talkSPORT’s Jamie O’Hara expressed concern for Arsenal, noting he didn’t see the same PSG that dominated Aston Villa.
“I still think PSG had another gear in them,” O’Hara said. “In the second half, they had two big chances, yet they were quite happy to just sit in. They weren’t making the real runs we’ve seen from them before. When they played against Aston Villa, they were a lot more compact. I think they’ve still got another gear to go against Arsenal.”
PSG are 90 minutes away from heading to the Champions League final, so whatever extra gear O’Hara believes the Ligue 1 side has, they’ll need to hit it next week to finish off Arsenal.
