Trippier Gets 8.5, Burn With 8 | Newcastle United Players Rated In Impressive Win Vs Ipswich Town

Newcastle United welcomed Ipswich Town at St. James’ Park earlier today as they hoped to earn a positive result at home in the Premier League. The Magpies made a bright start to the game and found themselves at a numerical advantage in the 37th minute when Ben Johnson was sent off by the referee. Eddie Howe’s men took the lead in the first half injury-time thanks to Alexander Isak’s penalty. Newcastle went into the half-time interval 1-0 up on the scoreline.
Dan Burn doubled his team’s advantage in the 56th minute before William Osula killed the game off in the 80th minute. The contest finished with the Magpies earning an impressive 3-0 win in front of their home supporters.

GK: Nick Pope – 6.5/10
Pope didn’t have a save to make in the game and earned an easy clean sheet today.
RB: Kieran Trippier – 8.5/10
He performed his defensive duties well and made a few decent chances in the final third. Trippier ended the game with two assists to his name.
CB: Fabian Schar – 7/10
Schar hardly put a foot wrong on the defensive third of the pitch and was replaced in the 82nd minute.
CB: Dan Burn – 8/10
He cleared his lines when he could and was good on the ball. Burn managed to score in the 56th minute.

LB: Tino Livramento – 7/10
He came back to defend when required and was accurate with his passing.
CM: Bruno Guimaraes – 7.5/10
Guimaraes was a positive influence at both ends of the field.
CM: Sandro Tonali – 8/10
He offered solid protection for his teammates at the back and made a lot of inviting chances for his teammates to find the back of the net.
CM: Joe Willock – 7/10
Willock managed to engineer some meaningful openings in the final third.
RW: Jacob Murphy – 7.5/10
He caught the eye at times on the right flank but was substituted after the hour mark.
ST: Alexander Isak – 6.5/10
Isak was a real handful for the Ipswich defenders and did well to score his penalty in the latter stages of the first half.
LW: Harvey Barnes – 7/10
He managed to be a threat at times but there was no goal for him today.

He added some pace to Howe’s attack.
CM: Lewis Miley – 6.5/10
Miley made one decent run with the ball.
ST: Callum Wilson – 6/10
He failed to register a goal.
