The Newcastle United victory parade and Town Moor event is now all set for Saturday.

The club giving an update (see below) on Friday morning.

The main stage entertainment at the Town Moor scheduled to start at 4pm (after showing a Carabao Cup Final replay on big screens).

Whilst the open top bus Newcastle United victory parade is leaving St James’ Park at 4.30pm.

Hundreds of thousands of Newcastle United fans are expected to attend the Newcastle United victory parade and/or Town Moor event.

However, if you can’t make it in person, it has now been made public that you can still follow it live.

From 4pm on Saturday, the official Newcastle United YouTube channel is going to give a live online viewing of the celebrations.

Newcastle United has issued important event information to ensure spectators enjoy this Saturday’s open-top bus parade and open-air event safely.

The club’s first team players and staff will be bringing the Carabao Cup trophy to the streets of Newcastle city centre on Saturday 29th March before a spectacular open-air event on the Town Moor.

The Magpies’ historic Carabao Cup victory at Wembley earlier this month secured the club’s first silverware since the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup in 1969, and the club’s first domestic trophy for 70 years.

Those with tickets for the event at the Town Moor are encouraged to go directly to the Town Moor site, where the parade will be streamed live on large screens, rather than the parade route.

Newcastle United has worked closely with its city partners to organise the highly anticipated parade and event, with significant support from organisations including the Freemen of Newcastle, Newcastle City Council, the North East Combined Authority, NE1, Northumbria Police, North East Ambulance Service and Nexus.

As part of the event, primary partner Sela will end the celebrations with a spectacular show, whilst the Club’s delivery partner, InPost, will support throughout the day. .

THE PARADE

Newcastle United’s first team players and staff will parade the Carabao Cup trophy from an open-top bus.

The parade convoy will depart from St. James’ Park at approximately 4:30pm on Saturday before travelling past STACK and east along Gallowgate.

The convoy will turn left onto Percy Street, proceed past Haymarket and travel onto the Great North Road (B1318), before arriving at the event site at approximately 5pm.

The safety of all attendees is of paramount importance. Road closures and parking restrictions are in place accordingly, and the convoy will have a significant police and stewarding presence.

Spectators are asked to follow all instructions to ensure the safe passage of the vehicles, and to avoid climbing any structures or street furniture to avoid both injury and damage to infrastructure.

All supporters planning to attend the Town Moor event should download their tickets before setting off to the Town Moor.

CARABAO CUP WINNERS EVENT

The parade will end at the site of a special Carabao Cup Winners event held by Newcastle United and organised in collaboration with city partners.

The event will be set around a large main stage on the Town Moor, adjacent to the Great North Road.

Supporters were previously asked to register their interest in attending, and those who did so will be issued a ticket via email ahead of the event.

Stewards in high-visibility clothing will be in attendance to provide event support.

CASHLESS EVENT

Food, drink and retail outlets at the Town Moor will accept card and contactless payments only. This is a cashless event.

PERMITTED / BANNED ITEMS

Please note that this is a family event. Supporters will be able to bring their own food and non-alcoholic drinks. Daysack-sized bags (roughly A4) will be allowed on site but will be subject to security checks.

Please note the following are not permitted on site:

– Alcohol

– Chairs/camping equipment

– Flags

– Pyrotechnics / flares

– Drones

– Pets

Please note that due to planned aerial activity in relation to the emergency services, crowd management and run-of-show, drones and pyrotechnics are strictly prohibited at or around the event site between 9am and 10pm on Saturday. There is an official air space restriction in place – authorised by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA).

ROAD CLOSURES AND PARKING RESTRICTIONS

Please note that there is no parking available at the Town Moor.

TRAVEL & TRANSPORT

The parade and Town Moor event will have significant impact on the region’s transport network on Saturday 29th March All public transport is expected to be very busy all day.

Those using public transport across Newcastle upon Tyne and surrounding areas on Saturday are encouraged to plan their journeys in advance, expect queues before and after the event and anticipate diversions where roads are closed.

Event attendees are encouraged to walk to and from the event site where possible.

ACCESSIBILITY

Please note that there will be flashing lights from the stage production at the event and camera flashes during the event.

Spectators who are sensitive to bright or flashing lights should take appropriate precautions.

A British Sign Language (BSL) interpreter will be communicating audio from the Main Stage via on-site screens.

SAFEGUARDING

Newcastle United will have a visible stewarding presence across the Town Moor event site, supported by the club’s Safeguarding and Welfare team.

Along the parade, there will be designated safeguarding stewards, supported by a team of Newcastle City Council staff. Clear procedures for dealing with safeguarding issues are in place.

At the Town Moor, Newcastle United will deploy its own team of Wellbeing Officers whose role will be to manage any safeguarding issues, as well as hand out wristbands and provide general welfare advice and support. There will be three welfare tents on the site which will act as ‘lost child’ points and somewhere attendees can access general welfare support, including water and phone charging facilities.

Attendees with safeguarding concerns can also raise them with their nearest steward who will alert the Wellbeing team accordingly.

The club is also operating a ‘child safety’ wristband scheme on the day, designed to help event staff re-unite lost children with parents and carers should they become separated. Wristbands can be obtained from the Gate, Eldon Square, Haymarket, St Thomas’ Church Haymarket, Monument Metro, Central Metro, Haymarket Bus Station, Greggs Gallowgate, Costa Gallowgate, Central Station and St James’ Stack.
