Ligue 1 champions PSG will face Premier League side Arsenal in the Champions League semi-finals. The first leg will be played this Tuesday at London’s Emirates Stadium. Arsenal v PSG promises to be a mouth-watering clash between two spectacular and attack-minded teams. Furthermore, the Gunners are arguably the best team in the world when it comes to scoring from set-pieces, whereas Les Parisiens are particularly vulnerable in this regard. 38 % of the goals conceded by PSG this season have come from set-pieces.
On Friday, PSG again conceded from a set-piece when Badredine Bouanani free-kick met Youssouf Ndayishimiye’s towering header. The Nice centre-back only had to outmuscle Fabian Ruiz to double Les Aiglons‘s lead. Club captain Marquinhos, who struggled on Friday, calls on PSG to improve this side of their game. “We know they are very strong in this aspect”, the Brazil international said to DAZN. “We can do better. We conceded a goal this way again.”
Marquinhos expects his teammates to push the contest against Arsenal in areas where the Brazil international sees PSG as superior to the Gunners. “There will be strategies to put in place. We will try to do our best to get a result there.”
