For an Aston Villa team that keeps on nailing it with their incoming players, Monchi appears to be far from satisfied. In this sport, he will know as much as anyone that you are only as good as your last move. The club's president of football operations will always be looking for the next maneuver that can help Unai Emery in his pursuit of trophies.
Two current players have a lot of the attention of Monchi. Marcus Rashford and Marco Asensio are currently on loan deals. All indications suggest that the Spaniard would want to ensure their long-term stay at Villa. There is a lot that can happen, though, between now and the start of the 2025-2026 campaign.
Another notable player at Real Madrid appears to be of interest to Monchi. Arda Güler has made a good impression during his young career. Los Galácticos are highly unlikely to part ways with him at this point. They will want to keep his rights under their management for the time being.
This isn't to say that another loan deal couldn't be in the works, however. Without the need to necessarily secure an attacking player to a two- or three-year deal or beyond, the latest success of Rashford and Asensio could show the management side another viable path to bolstering the roster.
It's clear why many teams are inquiring into the potential availability of the Turkish midfielder. His technical ability on the ball and creativity in the final third could add a boost to any team throughout Europe.
As mentioned on the Spanish sports website, Marca, Emery has always admired the ability of Güler. His added versatility on the outside or just beneath a striker in a more central role is also intriguing. Emery being able to position players in different areas of the pitch is important, particularly with the unknowns of injuries that creep up throughout every season.
It's unknown what exact talks are taking place or if Monchi will be able to convince the La Liga side to give up Güler. So far, the Spanish chief appears to be able to get any deal done, and he'll try his hand again to bring a highly coveted talent to Aston Villa.
