Arsenal are in Premier League action again on Wednesday night as they take on Crystal Palace at the Emirates.

Far more significant contests arrive for both teams in the aftermath of this midweek fixture. While Arsenal host the first leg of their Champions League semi-final against PSG next week, Palace make the short trip to Wembley for their FA Cup semi-final against Aston Villa on Saturday.

After enduring a three-game winless run in the league, Palace once again look resigned to another mid-table finish.

The Gunners, meanwhile, are likely to conclude as the bridesmaids for the third-season running. Second-place beckons for Mikel Arteta's men, who'll confirm Liverpool as champions should they lose at home on Wednesday night.

They head into the contest off the back of an emphatic 4-0 victory over Ipswich Town, who were reduced to ten men in the first half, on Sunday afternoon.

Arteta opted for a stronger-than-expected starting XI at the weekend, but the Spaniard is expected to shuffle his pack considerably in midweek. William Saliba and Bukayo Saka could drop out of the side with PSG visiting the Emirates next week.

Saka took a nasty blow to the Achilles on Sunday, but the boss confirmed after Arsenal's 4-0 win at Ipswich that all is well with his superstar winger.

Riccardo Calafiori is aiming to return for the semi-final first leg after missing another period due to a knee injury. Kai Havertz could also make his comeback before the season ends. Gabriel Magalhaes, Gabriel Jesus and Takehiro Tomiyasu are all long-term absentees.

Chris Richards serves a one-game suspension on Wednesday, meaning Glasner will be forced into another reshuffle of his defence. Jefferson Lerma has previously provided cover in the back three, and he'll likely fill in for Richards at the Emirates.

With Lerma dropping into the backline, Adam Wharton and Will Hughes are poised to start together in the midfield pivot. Cheick Doucoure has missed much of the season through injury, as has summer addition Chadi Riad.

Eberechi Eze was withdrawn at half-time of Saturday's draw, but the decision was purely tactical. He'll remain in the Palace XI here.

This is the third meeting between the pair this season, as Arsenal continued their impressive recent record over Palace with two victories.

They were made to work in the Carabao Cup, though, and we should expect the Gunners to win by a similarly slender margin on Wednesday night. Both teams have eyes veering towards future fixtures, and merely want to escape this contest unscathed.
