Barcelona advisor Enric Masip has fiercely defended the club and president Joan Laporta amid what he describes as relentless and unfair criticism from various quarters, including La Liga and wider football institutions.
In a candid and passionate address, Masip did not hold back as he labelled those accusing Barça of wrongdoing as “scoundrels” and spoke strongly in support of Laporta’s leadership and the club’s ongoing project under Hansi Flick.

Masip’s comments come at a time when Barcelona are facing scrutiny over a range of issues, including the registration of Dani Olmo and ongoing tensions with La Liga. Speaking about the Olmo saga, Masip was unequivocal:
“Barça is following the law in the Dani Olmo case. Everything has been done correctly. There are people who change the rules every day and make it difficult to comply with what they demand. It’s not normal.”
He went further to criticise La Liga for what he sees as deliberate interference:
“It is indecent that LaLiga says players like Dani Olmo or Pau can’t play and can’t work. They should focus on organising the League—that must already be hard enough.”
Masip’s frustration reflects a broader feeling within the club that Barcelona are being targeted with orchestrated attacks just when the team shows signs of resurgence.

“Every time we take a step forward, information comes out that damages Barça’s image. Luckily, we have a president who knows when to say ‘enough.’”
The advisor didn’t mince words when it came to the public accusations against Laporta:
“Nobody wants us to win anything. Not the League, not the Federation, not anyone. Only the fans want us to win.
“We are not Florentino or Real Madrid. We are feeling and colours. To say that Barça cheats and Laporta is a cheater—whoever says that is a scoundrel.”

Amid all this, Masip remains hopeful and optimistic about Barcelona’s chances of finishing the season strong.
“I’m optimistic because of what the team transmits. The illusion is growing, and we have the option of a treble. The squad is united and motivated—that’s crucial.”
He also had glowing words for new manager Hansi Flick, crediting Laporta for making the right decision:
“Laporta always wanted Flick. His humility, tactical awareness, and management style are a perfect fit for Barça’s philosophy. He’s truly delighted to be here.”
Masip touched on Lionel Messi as well, stating clearly that the club will ensure a proper tribute for the Argentine legend.

“There’s no doubt that Messi will get the tribute he deserves—if he wants it. Laporta did what was best for the club when Messi left.
“It hurt him deeply, as their relationship was strong, but it was a tough call that had to be made.”
In a time of pressure, Masip’s statements show that Barcelona’s leadership is not backing down.
Whether it is accusations from La Liga, speculation around player registrations, or external campaigns to destabilise the club, the message from within is clear: Barça are united, fighting back, and still dreaming big.
