Hector Fort remains one of Barcelona’s promising long-term bets. The 18-year-old full-back, who extended his contract in May until 2029, continues to train regularly with the first team under Hansi Flick and features in matchday squads.
However, his actual playing time has been scarce. The right-back has made 13 appearances this season, only two as a starter, totalling 362 minutes, even less than the 566 he logged last season under Xavi.
While this is technically his second year with first-team involvement, his role remains unclear and his presence on the pitch still limited.
Despite the situation, Hector Fort has no intention of leaving Barcelona in the summer transfer window, reports journalist Xavi Espinosa.
Offers have come in from elsewhere – teams willing to give him the playing time he is seeking – but Fort remains firm on his stance.
“He is very happy at the club. It is the club of his life, and he knows how lucky he is to have been considered for the first team. Signing that renewal last summer was a dream for him,” sources close to the player said.

In January, Fort received an €8 million offer from Serie A side Como. Both the player and the club rejected the deal.
The teenage right-back does not want a loan move either. Instead, his desire is to break through at Barcelona despite being the least-used player by Flick, apart from Ansu Fati and those sidelined with injury.
It must be noted that Fort’s position could be under further threat due to Barcelona’s intention to sign a new right-back this summer.
The Catalan giants view the role as a priority for reinforcement, and if a new signing arrives, it would further block the academy graduate’s path to regular minutes.
As such, Deco and Barcelona’s sporting department will need to decide Fort’s future this summer. While the club values him highly, the search for a new right-back and Jules Kounde’s form means that securing regular minutes will be a major challenge.
For now, however, Fort remains committed to Barcelona.
