Barcelona official confident ahead of cup final vs Real Madrid – ‘We will try to make it happen’ | OneFootball

As Barcelona gear up to take on Real Madrid in the finals of the Copa del Rey later tonight, former forward and current football co-ordinator of the club, Bojan Krkic, has shared his thoughts on the contest.

The Blaugrana go into the game as favourites over their arch-rivals, having already beaten Carlo Ancelotti’s men twice this season.

And Bojan, who himself has been part of a cup-winning squad in the past, has faith in the current Barcelona roster to come good on the big occasion.

“We have a young squad that has the ambition to win. We are aware that it is a final and that Madrid are a great rival,” Bojan said, as quoted by SPORT.

“We have to forget about the two clásicos we’ve played this season and focus on today’s game,” he added.

Further talking about the final in Seville, Bojan added: “The fans and all of us who are here are obviously nervous. We are very excited.”

Praising the work done by Hansi Flick and his staff as well as the squad this season, the Barcelona co-ordinator remarked:

“What the players and staff are doing this season should be appreciated. Doing things well brings you closer to winning titles. Now we are harvesting everything we have sown to go for our first title. We will try to make it happen.”

Finally, Bojan recounted his own experience of playing in a cup final in the past, saying:

“The Copa del Rey is a fantastic competition. The atmosphere of football in a final is wonderful. Having the privilege of scoring and winning a final is one of the best memories I have as a Barça player.”
