Paris Saint-Germain have made it a priority to bring in French talent they have slowly done so with the arrivals of Ousmane Dembele, Bradley Barcola, and Desire Doue. Moreover, the Parisians aren’t stopping there, especially with them needing to bolster their backline.
PSG have quietly revamped their center-back group over the past year, adding Lucas Beraldo and Willian Pacho. And with summer around the corner, don’t be surprised if they look to bring in another young defender.
Marquinhos, Presnel Kimpembe, and Lucas Hernandez are still key players, but there are question marks. Marquinhos is into his 30s, and both Kimpembe and Hernandez have dealt with major injuries. It’s clear PSG could still use more fresh legs in the back.

According to Christian Falk, PSG could be an option for Dayot Upamecano, with his future at Bayern Munich uncertain.
Talks over a new contract have reportedly stalled because of disagreements over the 26-year-old’s wages and release clause. That said, Bayern would rather move on from Kim Min-Jae—potentially for around €50 million—than let Upamecano go.
“Moussa Sissoko continues to represent Dayot Upamecano,” Falk wrote. “It’s inevitable, then, that the links to PSG will continue, given he also represents other French internationals.”
