As the end of this 2024-25 season approaches, FC Barcelona, like other European clubs, are planning their moves to strengthen their team ahead of the next season.
Defence is one of the areas of this Blaugrana team where some changes are expected to take place this summer. From this area, one of their important players, Ronald Araujo, is being linked with a move away from the club.
Meanwhile, Barcelona are also expected to make a new addition to their backline, as Deco is reportedly keen to bring the German defender Jonathan Tah, who has already confirmed he will leave Bayer Leverkusen at the end of this season, to Hansi Flick’s team.
Despite the two parties being keen for an agreement, the FFP problems being faced by the Catalan club have kept them from doing so. In such a context, another big European side can try to undermine this move for the Blaugranes.
This is apparent from a report by CF Bayern Insider, which claims that Bayern Munich are still keeping a close eye on Jonathan Tah, and they can step up their efforts to sign him now as one of their important defenders, Eric Dier, has decided not to renew his contract and join the French side AS Monaco this summer.

The Bavarians were keen to retain the Englishman in their squad, and had even offered him a new contract, but Dier has decided to play in France for the next season.
Although he was not one of the first options for Vincent Kompany for the centre of the defence, but he was still an important player for this position, mainly because of the persistent injuries suffered by other centre-backs in the Bayern squad.
As a result, the Bavarians would be keen to replace him with a priority in the upcoming summer transfer window. If they can convince Jonathan Tah to join them, it would come at the expense of Barcelona. Meanwhile, they are also interested in the Blaugrana captain, Ronald Araujo.
