Chelsea have agreed a deal with Dubai property developers DAMAC to be their front of shirt sponsors until the end of the season, Sky Sports’ Kaveh Solhekol has just Tweeted.
The Blues have had a blank shirt all year after a short term deal with Infinite Athlete expired at the end of last season. Most of us were assuming that, with just a maximum of 7 games left in the season, we would go a year without anything, but this has popped up out of nowhere.
Solhekol insists that the Blues are still in a “competitive process” of looking for a front of shirt sponsor. That’s a very flattering way of putting it. While it’s good to do your due diligence, it’s hilarious to spin it that the reason we’ve spent more time without a sponsor than with a sponsor in the last two seasons is because process is so damn competitive.

We are still awaiting the details of the deal – how much it’s worth, whether there’s a chance they stay longer, how soon it will be on the shirts, and so on.
According to this report, DAMAC are going to become Chelsea’s “official property development partner”, meaning that while this shirt deal is short term, there is a longer term deal agreed.
What we do know from last season’s addition of Infinite Athlete as our front of shirt sponsor in October is that it’s very easy to print out the new logos and add them to the shirts. So on that front, there should no problem.
However, there may be red tape with UEFA to get the sponsor approved in time. We will find out tomorrow when the players emerge, we suppose.
