Philippe Clement’s team won a rare victory over Celtic back in January at Ibrox but the result has been inconsequential for Celtic’s march towards a fourth successive title.
The Scottish Champions can win the Premiership title if they win their next three games, starting with a win on Sunday. The weekend’s game will be a first since January 2023 with away supporters returning. There will be around 2500 Rangers supporters in attendance for the game.
Celtic have erected large nets for the game to protect home supporters from missiles being sent from the away section.
Celtic welcomed 7000 away fans to Celtic Park for the Scottish Cup Quarter Final win over Hibs. It was good to see a return to larger allocations for domestic games.
It will be an added boost to the atmosphere at the weekend to have away supporters back in the ground but only if they can be safely managed. theRangers have agreed to Celtic’s security demands, as brokered by the SPFL, resulting in a return to sizeable allocations.

Safety nets have become necessary due to numerous separate instances of Celtic supporters and staff being hit by bottles, coins, glasses, batteries and so on. A number of their fans are currently serving prison sentences and there is an ongoing police investigation after Arne Engels was allegedly struck by a coin in the match at Ibrox earlier this year.
