Defender swap? Bournemouth expressing interest in Real Madrid star ahead of the summer | OneFootball

A member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid has made his way onto the transfer radar of Premier League outfit Bournemouth.

That’s according to Relevo, who point towards Fran García as the player in question.

Left-back Fran has for his part enjoyed a solid campaign to date on the books of Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid.

With Ferland Mendy continuing to struggle for fitness, the Spaniard has played a prominent role for Los Blancos, to the tune of 41 appearances across all competitions.

And yet, if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, Fran’s future at the Santiago Bernabéu remains somewhat up in the air.

As per Relevo:

‘Behind closed doors, speaking about next season’s planning, Real Madrid are hesitant about whether to continue counting on Fran or not.’

Not only that, but suitors are already emerging, led at present by the aforementioned Bournemouth.

Cherries boss Andoni Iraola previously oversaw Fran’s development during a shared stint at Rayo Vallecano, with it added that the tactician ‘would love to have him in England’.

Interestingly, this comes just 24 hours on from Real Madrid being linked with the current first-choice left-back at the Vitality Stadium, in Milos Kerkez.

Could some form of exchange deal between the clubs be on the cards this summer?
