Thomas Muller will start for Bayern Munich against Inter Milan tomorrow despite the ongoing soap opera around his contract.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the 35-year-old will get the start with Jamal Musiala out.

Bayern Munich will have to face Inter Milan without Jamal Musiala tomorrow.

The German international will be absent from both legs of the Champions League quarterfinal tie.

That leaves a big hole to fill in the attacking midfield position for Bayern.

However, there is a very experienced hand who will be ready to step in for the Bavarians.

In parallel to Bayern’s recent injury horror show, there has also been quite the soap opera off the pitch.

Bayern Munich have decided not to offer forward Thomas Muller a new contract.

The legendary German international’s current deal runs out at the end of June. Therefore, without an extension, this is his last season at the Allianz Arena.

Few players have as deep an association with Bayern as Muller. The 35-year-old has made more appearances for the club than any other player.

Therefore, the end of the road for Muller at Bayern was always going to be emotional.

And the fact that the Bavarians appear to have unilaterally decided to end the association has left a bitter taste for many – reportedly, Muller included.

However, the Bayern legend will have to put those thoughts to the side.

Muller has at least one more big job to do.

The 2014 World Cup winner will be in Bayern’s starting eleven for tomorrow’s Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Inter.
