Arda Guler’s performance in Real Madrid’s narrow 1-0 win over Getafe was a standout moment, with the Turkish midfielder scoring the only goal of the match.
After the game, he shared his excitement and satisfaction with both his individual performance and the team’s effort.
“I scored a great goal and I’m very happy with the three points,” Guler said on Real Madrid TV.
“We fought very well as a team. I played in a position where I feel very comfortable, in midfield, and I’m even happier.”

Guler’s goal was a crucial one, and his presence in the midfield, where he made a team-leading 77 passes, demonstrated his growing influence in the heart of the park.
Reflecting on the match, Guler acknowledged the challenge posed by Getafe, noting,
“We knew this match was going to be difficult. We broke their pressure in the first half, and it is a very important victory.”
With his performance, Guler has opened up a debate ahead of the highly anticipated Copa del Rey final against Barcelona.
“It is an important match. We’re confident,” he said, adding that the team’s morale is high as they look to claim the title.
Meanwhile, goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who kept a crucial clean sheet against Getafe, also spoke to Real Madrid TV about the upcoming final.

He expressed his excitement and focus on the Copa del Rey, emphasising the importance of the game.
“We are very focused and excited about the final. We lost in the Champions League, and we are second in La Liga, but the Copa del Rey final against Barça is very important for everyone,” Courtois said.
The Belgian shot-stopper highlighted the team’s defensive strength as a key to success in the final, stating,
“It is important to keep a clean sheet. It is always good to have that defensive solidity, and we can achieve that if everyone is focused on giving 100% in defence. We have to show the same on Saturday in the Cup.”
Courtois, who made two vital saves to maintain Real Madrid’s 1-0 lead against Getafe, also hinted that he is set to start in goal for the final.
“I was calm in the first half. The second half was more complicated. The last half is about staying focused and focused. I hope to repeat that on Saturday,” he concluded.
