Bayern Munich have one more big decision to make in the coming weeks as Leroy Sane comes closer to the end of his contract. The German winger will become a free agent at the end of the season.
Sane remains keen on staying in Munich, but contract talks have not moved in the positive direction for several months. Bayern have prioritized contract renewals of Manuel Neuer, Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich, and Jamal Musiala over Sane.
The club chiefs are skeptical about offering a new deal to Sane due to his inconsistent performances over the last four years. Sane has been good in patches since arriving from Manchester City in 2020. Moreover, his contract extension will be an expensive affair since he is already one of the big earners in the squad.
Sane needs a strong season end to convince the club chiefs to offer him a new deal. While talking to Bild over the weekend (via iMiaSanMia), Harry Kane said he would like to continue playing with Sane in the Bavarian colours next season.

According to Sky Sports in Germany, Bayern Munich are planning to settle the future of Leroy Sane in the next three weeks. Sane is open to signing a new contract on reduced wages, but Die Roten have yet to make a contract offer.
Arsenal are keeping a close eye on the developments in talks between Sane and Bayern. The North London side has reportedly held talks with the representatives of Sane. Die Roten remains the first preference for Sane regarding his long-term future.
Sane is currently going through a good run of form in front of the goal. He found the back of the net in a 1-1 draw against Union Berlin before the international break. The German winger followed up this performance by scoring a brace against St. Pauli. He has scored nine goals in the Bundesliga, which is his personal best for Bayern.
With Bayern looking to part ways with Thomas Muller, Kingsley Coman, and Serge Gnabry, keeping Sane on a short-term deal makes sense. He can provide the experience needed in the final third from wide areas. His fitness is a concern, but the last few seasons have not seen him on a long-term layoff. Die Roten are probably looking to leverage Sane’s desire to stay in Bavaria to extend his wages on a lower wages.
