Bayern beat Augsburg 3-1 and lost key player Jamal Musiala due to a hamstring injury. Here are some immediate reactions from both clubs to the game:

Joshua Kimmich (Bayern Munich):

  • (About the game) It was a fully deserved win, we stayed calm after Augsburg's goal and were able to take control over the game. The equaliser in the 1st half was also very important for our game plan. In the 2nd half we pretty much didn't allow any big chances for Augsburg.
  • (About Musiala's injury) We have to wait and see for the diagnosis. Whether it's Jamal or somebody else, it's a tough pill to swallow for us. Our injury crisis is definetly a little bit extrem at the moment.
  • (About the club's reaction to the injury crisis) Everybody has to work hard so we can work hard as a team. Everybody will get their chance to play in the starting XI and it could happen at any given moment, like with Stanisic who came in and played well as a leftback, even though that's not his usual position.

Jeffrey Gouweleeuw (FC Augsburg):

  1. (About the 1st loss since the start of February) It's a very frustrating result, because the referee wasn't totally fair tonight. In my opinion, Zesiger should not have gotten a 2nd yellow card, these kind of decisions decide a game.

Jess Thorup (head coach FC Augsburg):

  • (About the game) We played against the best team in the league, were able to compete and had great chances, too. It became very difficult after the red card. In the end, there was potential to get more from the game for us, but it was too tough with ten men against Bayern Munich.
  • (About the red card) My feeling is that he gets to the ball and it doesn't need to be a 2nd yellow card - but I have to be careful with what I think and say.
  • (About Augsburg's final goals for the season) I don't look at the table, I only think from game to game. But yes, I'm not here to only play against relegation year in, year out. We want to play against the best teams and every day we are working hard in order to achieve that.

Vincent Kompany (head coach Bayern Munich):

  • (About the game) All of us expected a difficult game. After Augsburg's goal we were able to stay calm and get back into the game. It was a good away win and now we are looking forward to the Champions League.
  • (About Bayern's injury crisis) We obviously have a few injuries right now; while we do not know currently, how bad Jamal's injury actually is, the fact that we need every player still remains. We have to look at how we can solve this new problem, I just don't want to complain too much.
  • (About Müller's role vs. Inter): We first of all are going to further analyse Inter. We have different players for different situations. But we all have a common goal, to win every game, and today it was also clearly visible, that we need every player. Everyone has to be prepared mentally to play at any given moment.
