Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries will undergo medical tests later this week ahead of matches against Bayern Munich and AC Milan.

This according to Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, via FCInterNews.

Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries is currently on the sidelines with a thigh injury. And a return does not look to be immediately in sight.

The former PSV wingback suffered the problem just before the international break. It forced him off in Inter’s Serie A clash with Atalanta before the break.

Prior to that, Dumfries had enjoyed a run as a virtual everpresent in the Nerazzurri starting eleven.

Denzel Dumfries pulled out of the Netherlands squad during the international break.

And it was always clear that the 28-year-old would need a few weeks to heal from his injury.

Denzel Dumfries has already missed a couple matches after the international break. He was out of the squad for matches against Udinese and AC Milan.

And Dumfries will also be absent for Inter’s Serie A clash with Parma tomorrow.

The former PSV wingback will also miss next week’s Champions League quarterfinal first leg against Bayern Munich.

It is not exactly clear when the Dutchman will be back after that, however. He could very well miss several more matches, even if he is only on the sidelines for a couple additional weeks.

That could mean that Dumfries misses both legs of Inter’s Champions League tie against Bayern.

Moreover, the Dutchman could also potentially be absent from the second leg of Inter’s Coppa Italia tie against AC Milan.

For the last few days, Dumfries has been undergoing physical therapy in the Netherlands.

However, the 28-year-old has returned to Milan.

This coming week, Dumfries will undergo tests with Inter’s medical staff. These should shed more light on when he will be able to return to the pitch.
