Luka Jovic has declared that he is ‘open to all options’ regarding his future, with his contract at AC Milan set to expire in a few weeks.
It gas been another unusual season for Jovic, who signed a contract renewal last summer and was given the No.9 shirt before ending up firmly on the fringes. He has been used more by Sergio Conceicao though, and got his first goal of the season away against Napoli last Sunday.
Jovic spoke in an interview with Serbian source Mozzart Sport (via MilanNews) about his future beyond the end of the season.
Your contract expires in the summer, are you thinking of staying in Milan or would you like to leave?
“My contract expires in the summer, I am open to all options. I just want to play.”
Will this be the start of a better spring for you?
“I honestly hope so. I’m really happy to have taken advantage of the opportunities I’ve been given, because I haven’t had many this year. I hope everything changes. I think I deserve more opportunities at Milan too.
“Last year with my goals we got at least ten points, reached the Champions League, and then second place, thanks to which we played the Supercippa in Arabia, which we won. I think I deserve more minutes this year too. But… it’s how it is.”
Monza were linked with a January move for the Serbia international yet nothing came of it. Instead, the former Real Madrid and Eintracht Frankfurt man was happy to wait it out and see what options he has at the end of the season, when he can go for free.
