Federico Gatti is expected to miss at least one month of action at a crucial time of the season for Juventus as the club confirmed the centre-back has sustained a fibula fracture.
The defender was forced off during the first half of his side’s 1-0 win over Genoa, forcing Igor Tudor to replace him with Pierre Kalulu just minutes after Kenan Yildiz’s opener due to a clash with striker Andrea Pinamonti.

Pinamonti fortuitously kicked the Gatti’s ankle instead of the ball, prompting the 26-year-old to remain on the ground in pain.
Medical tests underwent on Monday confirmed that the central defender has suffered a ‘compound fracture’ of his fibula.
“Federico Gatti, who left the field during the first half of Juventus-Genoa following an injury to his left leg, underwent diagnostic tests at the J|Medical this Monday morning,” an official note from the club reads.
“The tests revealed the presence of a compound fracture to the diaphysis of the fibula.”

According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the injury is expected to keep Gatti sidelined for nearly a month, meaning Igor Tudor will have to do without him for Serie A clashes against Roma, Lecce, Parma and Monza.
Kalulu and Lloyd Kelly are likely to be Tudor’s main options to replace the Italian over the next few weeks as Juventus face crucial matches in the race for a Champions League spot.
