Kylian Mbappé ‘a doubt’ to face Barcelona in Copa del Rey final | OneFootball

La Liga giants Real Madrid are sweating over the status of Kylian Mbappé for their upcoming showdown with Barcelona.

That’s according to Diario Sport, who have on Friday provided an insight into the latest developments behind the scenes in Spain’s capital.

Frontman Mbappé was for his part of course in from the off once more on Wednesday night.

This came as Real Madrid welcomed Arsenal to Spain’s capital for the 2nd leg of a Champions League quarter-final tie.

En route to Los Blancos being sent packing from the competition, however, the summer arrival in La Liga was forced into a premature departure from the action, after jarring his ankle in nasty fashion.

And as alluded to above, if the latest word stemming from Valdebebas is anything to go by, then Mbappé has since not enjoyed much improvement.

As per Sport, in fact:

‘Kylian Mbappé underwent medical tests after the ankle injury suffered in the Champions League against Arsenal and it was confirmed that his right ankle is damaged. The Frenchman has a sprain that makes him a doubt for the Copa del Rey final against Barça.’

The 26-year-old, it is claimed, has already been ruled out of this weekend’s La Liga meeting with Athletic Club (for which he was suspended), and next week’s clash with Getafe.

Mbappé is therefore considered to be in a race against time to play his part in the Copa del Rey final, on April 26th.
