Barcelona legend Luis Suarez may have departed the club in 2020, but his heart still beats for the Blaugrana.
In a recent interview broadcast live with an Argentine content creator, Davoo Xeneize, the former striker opened up about his love for the club, the young talents currently shining at the club, and his own unforgettable journey in Catalonia.
“I love today’s Barcelona,” Suarez began, beaming with pride. “The team has a dynamic, a style of football and a level of efficiency that is really impressive.
“There are two players who are well above average, in my opinion—Pedri and Lamine Yamal. They’re difference-makers.”
Suarez was particularly full of praise for the young duo, adding,
“Pedri’s level is incredible, it surprises me how consistent and composed he is. And Lamine… at his age, doing what he’s doing? It’s unreal.”
Suarez also took a moment to credit other key players in Hansi Flick’s evolving side. “You’ve got Raphinha and Lewandowski delivering at crucial moments. But those two—Pedri and Lamine—are something else.”

The Uruguayan forward’s connection to Barcelona runs deep. “I always dreamed of playing for Barça,” he confessed. “When I signed, it was the realisation of a dream.”
That dream reached unprecedented heights when Suarez formed the iconic attacking trio alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar.
Their chemistry and brilliance created a golden era at the club, winning the treble in 2014–15 and setting records along the way. Recalling those days, Suarez joked:
“At the beginning, we were three players with different characteristics where the donkey, me, was in the middle. I used to say to myself, ‘Where do I put so I don’t get in the way?’
“Of course, I would look to my side and see Leo (Messi). I looked to the other side and there was Neymar.
“In the back, Xavi, Iniesta, Busquets. I learned to move in my space, in my rectangle. The truth is that we understood each other in a way that was admirable,” he remembered.

Suarez also opened up about his painful exit from the club in 2020—a decision that sparked outrage among fans and reportedly caused unrest in the dressing room.
“At the time, I suffered a lot from my departure,” he admitted. “But later, you reflect and give it meaning. Things happen for a reason.
“I had to leave, and maybe that opened up other paths for me. I don’t hold grudges, but yes, it was very hard to leave Barcelona.”
Suarez may no longer wear the Blaugrana colours, but his passion for the club hasn’t faded.
Whether it is admiring the next generation like Pedri and Yamal or reminiscing about his legendary partnership with Messi and Neymar, the ‘Pistolero’ remains a true Barcelona icon.
