Manchester United target Bryan Mbeumo is on Nottingham Forest’s radar as they feel Matheus Cunha is Old Trafford bound.

The Red Devils have been linked to Mbeumo, who has taken the Premier League by storm this season, firing in 18 goals and six assists in all competitions.

It seems that United have honed in on Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Cunha instead in recent days and the transfer is advancing rapidly according to numerous sources.

Wolves’ flexibility to allow United to pay Cunha’s release clause in instalments is seen as a big factor as to why a deal is possible.

As a result, Nottingham Forest have reportedly become resigned to the fact that Cunha will go to United and have now placed Mbeumo in their sights.

GIVEMESPORT report that “Nottingham Forest are contemplating whether to turn their attentions towards attempting to sign Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo after it has become clear that leading target Matheus Cunha would prefer to join Manchester United.”

The Brazilian number 10 was high on Forest’s wish list throughout the season but they acknowledge that “they are facing an uphill battle to beat Manchester United to his signature.”

Therefore, their attention has shifted to Mbeumo, who they feel suits their transition-heavy tactics to a tee.

Nonetheless, the Cameroonian will not come cheap as Brentford will likely hold out for a fee of around £50 million from their Premier League rivals.

The Tricky Trees believe that he could be tempted to move to the City Ground due to the likelihood of them offering European football next season.

The news is even greater for United fans as it seems confirmation that Cunha is certainly leaving Molineux this summer.

What’s more, Forest could well be able to offer Champions League football next season but if they are moving aside for United, it demonstrates the pull the club still can have, even at its lowest ebb.
