FC Barcelona midfielder Pedri has been named La Liga Player of the Month for April, following a string of excellent displays over the past few weeks.

The honour recognises the midfield maestro’s outstanding displays during a crucial month in which he played a leading role in his team’s push for the league title.

Indeed, Pedri was instrumental in helping Hansi Flick’s side gain ground over their rivals Real Madrid in the title race.

The team’s style of play is heavily influenced by the Spanish international, whose vision and technical quality have been vital to maintaining momentum towards their objective.

April proved highly positive for Barcelona in La Liga, beginning with a draw against Real Betis, followed by an away win over Leganes, a dramatic comeback against Celta Vigo, and the final victory against Mallorca.

Pedri was named MVP against Mallorca as he dominated the match with control and composure, pulling the strings as Barcelona secured a 1-0 with the goal coming from Dani Olmo.

This marks Pedri’s first Player of the Month award for the current La Liga season.

The Barcelona superstar topped the final vote ahead of Julian Alvarez of Atletico Madrid, Giorgi Mamardashvili of Valencia, Javi Puado of RCD Espanyol, and Sergi Darder of Mallorca.
