Real Madrid legend Roberto Carlos has shared his thoughts on Carlo Ancelotti’s future at the club, praising the Italian coach for his remarkable achievements with the club.
As the most successful manager in Real Madrid’s history in terms of trophies, Ancelotti continues to receive strong backing from figures associated with the club.
Speaking in an interview on El Chiringuito TV, the Brazilian icon was asked if Ancelotti represented the future of Real Madrid.
Without hesitation, he emphasised the Italian’s greatness, highlighting not only his achievements on the pitch but also his extraordinary character.
“Is Ancelotti the future of Real Madrid? Carlo is great. He’s the coach with the most titles at Madrid and he’s a spectacular person. He’s a human being like no other in the world,” he said.
During the discussion, the interviewer attempted to steer the conversation towards Xabi Alonso, who has been widely linked with a potential return to Madrid as manager in the future.

When the journalist suggested that Alonso should wait for his opportunity, Carlos tactfully avoided taking sides.
Instead, he acknowledged Alonso’s coaching abilities and the impressive work he has been doing. However, he made it clear that for now, Ancelotti remains the best option for Real Madrid.
“Xabi Alonso is a great coach, he’s doing a great job. But Ancelotti is here, the best,” said the former left-back.
The former defender also touched upon Ronaldo Nazario’s past comments regarding Ancelotti’s potential move to the Brazilian national team.

Ronaldo had previously stated that Brazil had engaged in talks with the Real Madrid coach, but Los Blancos ultimately blocked the move.
When asked about this situation, Carlos admitted that he had read about the negotiations but was not personally involved.
“Do I know for a fact that Real Madrid prevented Ancelotti from going to Brazil? When you read and hear the news… it’s difficult. I wasn’t there. Ronaldo speaks from a business perspective that interested him,” he said.
Furthermore, he suggested that Ronaldo, who has ambitions of leading the Brazilian Football Confederation, may have wanted Ancelotti as the national team’s coach.
“It’s normal that Ronaldo, wanting to be president of the Brazilian Football Confederation, would go for the best… maybe he wanted Ancelotti as his coach,” he added.
Ultimately, Carlos maintained his stance in support of Ancelotti, reinforcing the idea that the Italian remains an integral part of Real Madrid’s present and future.
