Real Madrid’s recent 1-0 win over Getafe appears to have yielded more negatives than positive, as far as the club are concerned.

Whie the three points collected will be crucial in helping Real Madrid remain in the race for the league title, the club have lost two key players to injuries, including Eduardo Camavinga, who has been ruled out for the season.

With another midfielder ruled out, it becomes ever so important for Los Blancos to make sure they have all the available options at their disposal heading into the final phase of the campaign.

Real Madrid to appeal against Tchouameni’s yellow card

Keeping that in mind, Real Madrid are ready to lodge an appeal against the yellow card given to Aurelien Tchouameni against Getafe, reports Mundo Deportivo.

The star midfielder picked up the booking around 69th minute due to a challenge on Mauro Arambarri. The referee was quick to call it a foul and handed the yellow card to Tchouameni.

The booking was significant as it was Tchouameni’s fourth booking of the season in La Liga.

It means the Frenchman could potentially be rule out against Barcelona on May 11 if he picks up another yellow card in the next game against Celta Vigo.

Given the current situation with injuries, Real Madrid simply cannot afford to lose a player like Tchouameni against Barcelona in La Liga next month, especially given that it could be a title-decider.

The reigning Spanish champions will already be missing a lot of players when they take on the Catalans this weekend, in the Copa del Rey final.

Real Madrid, therefore, are determined to overturn Tchouameni’s yellow card. They argue that the Frenchman hadn’t made a foul as he got hold of the ball and was instead fouled by Arambarri. The club intend to provide video footage supporting their claims as evidence.

Whether they are successful on getting Tchouameni’s yellow card or not remains to be seen.
