The fight for fourth place has been transformed in Serie A, but it could’ve all been very different, as Juventus go into fourth, Roma catch Lazio in sixth and there are five teams in a three-point radius.

With only four rounds left to play, it really is an extraordinary battle for European qualification and the Week 34 results provided quite a few surprises.

Lazio knew all this and could’ve leapfrogged Bologna into fifth on 62 points with a victory, but had to fight back from 2-0 down to scrape a 2-2 draw with Parma.

Instead, it means Roma catch Lazio in sixth place on 60 points and are in front, thanks to their superior head-to-head record.

In Serie A, teams are separated when they are level on points first and foremost by the head-to-head record, then if that is equal, then they look to goal difference overall.

With four rounds left to play, there are now five sides in a three-point radius and this weekend is going to see Juventus and Bologna face off.
