As Tottenham Hotspur faces an uncertain summer, with major changes expected in both management and squad composition, one key area that the club is looking to strengthen is their attacking department. With Timo Werner set to return to RB Leipzig after a disappointing loan spell, the future of key players like Brennan Johnson and Richarlison uncertain, and doubts surrounding Bayern Munich loanee Mathys Tel, Spurs are scouting talent to reinvigorate their forward line. One of the names now prominently linked with a move to north London is Borussia Dortmund’s 20-year-old forward Jamie Bynoe-Gittens.
With Tottenham’s current attack failing to consistently produce goals, Spurs are looking for a player who can offer both immediate impact and long-term potential. Bynoe-Gittens has emerged as a strong candidate, following an impressive campaign in the Bundesliga. According to GiveMeSport, Tottenham has been monitoring the England Under-21 international for months and is prepared to face competition from other Premier League clubs, notably Arsenal and Manchester City, who have also expressed interest.

Bynoe-Gittens has been a standout player for Dortmund, scoring 11 goals and providing four assists in 40 appearances across all competitions this season. His attacking abilities, versatility, and youth make him a highly coveted talent, and his performances in a tough season for Dortmund have not gone unnoticed. However, there is a concern that his form has dipped slightly in the second half of the campaign, potentially lowering his £70 million price tag to a figure more in line with Tottenham’s budget.
Dortmund’s position in the Bundesliga and their chances of securing a place in next season’s Champions League are looking increasingly unlikely. With their financial stability at risk, the German side may be forced to sell valuable assets, and Bynoe-Gittens could be one of the players sacrificed. This presents Tottenham with a golden opportunity to sign the young attacker at a price more within their reach.
However, Spurs also find themselves in a precarious position. Qualification for European football is far from guaranteed, and the club faces a tough task ahead to secure a place in next season’s competitions. Their hopes rest largely on winning the Europa League, a challenging proposition that could ultimately affect their appeal to potential signings like Bynoe-Gittens.

In terms of positioning, Bynoe-Gittens is primarily a left-winger, a role currently occupied by club legend Son Heung-min. While Son’s form has dipped this season, his status as captain and his contract extension until 2026 suggest that he remains a central figure in Tottenham’s plans. However, with the uncertainty surrounding both Son’s form and the club’s future, it’s possible that Bynoe-Gittens could be viewed as a long-term replacement for the South Korean forward.
Under current manager Ange Postecoglou, Spurs have displayed an attacking approach, and Bynoe-Gittens’ direct, pacey style would align well with this philosophy. Additionally, the possibility of former Dortmund coach Edin Terzic taking over as Spurs manager adds another layer of intrigue to the situation. Terzic has worked closely with Bynoe-Gittens at Dortmund and could play a significant role in convincing him to join Spurs.

For Spurs, the potential signing of Jamie Bynoe-Gittens presents an exciting prospect for the future. His youth, skill set, and versatility make him an ideal candidate to rejuvenate Spurs’ attack, which has struggled at times this season. While his form has fluctuated, the dip in his performances could lead to a more reasonable price tag, making him a valuable addition without breaking the bank.
Bynoe-Gittens’ potential to play across the front line or as a No.10 gives Tottenham the flexibility they need to adapt to different tactical systems and challenges. His signing would provide Spurs with much-needed depth in their forward options and could signal the beginning of a much-needed squad overhaul.
However, the competition for his signature from clubs like Arsenal and Manchester City should not be underestimated. Tottenham will need to act quickly and decisively to secure Bynoe-Gittens’ services, especially considering the uncertainty around European football and the potential impact of managerial changes. If Spurs are serious about returning to their competitive best, a move for Bynoe-Gittens could be a smart step forward, but it is essential that the club doesn’t rely solely on him to revitalise their attack.
