Erling Haaland’s penalty against Brighton on Saturday meant he became the fourth City player to 100 goal Premier League contributions since Pep Guardiola’s arrival.

We’ve scored a whopping 810 goals in 333 English top-flight matches since the Catalan moved to England in 2016.

That’s resulted in six titles from eight complete campaigns to date, including a record setting four-in-a-row between 2021 and 2024.

Haaland’s goal in last weekend’s draw took him to 84 strikes in the Premier League, combined with 16 assists.

He did it in record time too, needing just 94 appearances – while the previous record holder Alan Shearer hit the landmark in 100 games.

It meant Haaland joined an exclusive of modern City greats to contribute to at least a 100 Premier League goals under Guardiola’s stewardship.

Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero are the only other players to be so heavily involved at the top end of the pitch for our iconic boss.

Here we’ll take a closer look at the careers of each of the four players in the Premier League under Pep.

Kevin De Bruyne – 171 contributions in 251 games

63 goals, 108 assists

Our Player of the Year in the season before Pep arrived, De Bruyne was clearly going to be a key part of Guardiola’s side.

He’s gone on to be perhaps the greatest playmaker in Premier League history. With 118 assists in total, he’s second in terms of all-time assisters in the division.

He reached 100 assists in record time, needing just 237 games when previous record holder Cesc Fabregas had required 293.

He has won the Premier League’s Playmaker of the Season award – given to the man with the most assists – three times and remains the only player to have won it more than once.

His 20 in 2019/20 remains the joint-most in a single season with Thierry Henry in 2002/03.

Meanwhile, he’s continued to be a regular threat in front of goal and is one of just 18 men to score 100 times for City.

He also became the first midfielder since Colin Bell to hit that landmark for City when he did so in April 2024.

Raheem Sterling – 125 contributions in 194 games

85 goals, 40 assists

Another player that had been at the Etihad for a season before Pep’s arrival, Guardiola moulded Sterling into a winger with regular output at the top end of the pitch.

After seven goals and six assists in 2016/17, Sterling’s impact in the final third went through the roof in Pep’s second season.

Sterling’s 18 goals and 11 assists went a long way to making the difference between the third-placed side of the previous season and the record-breaking team of 2017/18.

Consistency in front of goal followed over the next four campaigns, with his return of 20 in 2019/20 proving a career-high.

Sergio Aguero – 103 contributions in 125 games

82 goals, 21 assists

Aguero was already a City legend when Pep Guardiola arrived having been a star man in two Premier League titles.

The Argentinian remained one of the boss’ first names on the teamsheet until the end of the 2019/20 season, scoring 78 goals across four campaigns.

He also chipped in with assists throughout, registering a high of seven in 2018/19.

The Norwegian has set an incredible pace when it comes to goalscoring in his first three terms in Manchester.

2022/23 saw him set a record for most goals in a single season, hitting 36 and claiming the first of two Golden Boots.

27 goals followed in 2023/24 as he led the way to another title, before 21 so far in this campaign.

He's more than proven his worth when it comes to being part of the build-up too, laying on eight assists in 2022/23, five last year and three so far in 2024/25.
