One popular former Chelsea player has hit out at the policy of the club and the fact that they still lack experience in the squad.
The Blues managed to get through to the semi finals of the Conference League last night by beating Legia Warsaw 4-2 on aggregate but on the night in the second leg, they lost 2-1 against the Polish minnows at Stamford Bridge in what was a shameful and embarrassing performance and result.
Chelsea captain even appears to take a slight dig towards Maresca as he admitted that the team did not prepare right for the game in his post-match comments last night.
It looked bad from the start to be honest when the lineup came out. Ahead of a key game to get Champions League qualification on Sunday, Maresca picked a very strong lineup and started big name players such as Cole Palmer, Reece James, and Marc Cucurella in a game they were already leading 3-0.
Maresca was asked about why he picked this lineup and gave an answer that once again insults fan intelligence.
Former Chelsea winger Joe Cole was on pundit duty for for the game last night and he was not a happy bunny afterwards.

Cole was discussing the lack of leaders and experience in this current Chelsea team on TNT Sports.
He said:
“If you look at that group they are young, it’s the policy of the club, I feel like a broken record saying they need experience. If you look at all the successful teams in the last decades they always have a stable diet of other players who come through the academy who understand the culture and understand the club because if all those players had been there now coming into their mid 20s, leaders, you have that group of players and that would change the dynamic in a game like this. It’s all a bit put together. That was a mindset tonight, they are so much better than that.”
