Eintracht will conduct their pre-season preparations in the USA between 22 July and 3 August. The Frankfurt U.S. Tour will include friendlies against Louisville City FC and Philadelphia Union.

Eintracht Frankfurt are returning to the USA. Like last year, the Eagles will conduct the core part of their pre-season preparations in the USA in 2025. Once again, their base during the Frankfurt U.S. Tour will be Louisville, in the state of Kentucky. Eintracht will set off for the Bluegrass State on the Ohio River on Tuesday 22 July.

“First and foremost, it’s important that we can prepare for the new season in the best possible way this summer,” said board member for sport Markus Krösche. “Last year, we laid the foundation for a strong first half of the campaign in Louisville. We were very happy with the facilities there, which is why we took this opportunity again this year. The training camp also fits in with Eintracht Frankfurt’s internationalisation strategy. Our motto ‘building bridges’ is more relevant than ever.”

On the subject of building bridges, the relationship between Eintracht and the people of the United States is one that has blossomed over many years since the 1950s. Eintracht Frankfurt has had its own club office in New York for over five years now, not to mention 13 official fan clubs between the east and west coasts of North America.

“Aside from the excellent infrastructure that awaits us over there, the US market is an interesting one in several respects and offers us a hugely exciting platform from which to drive our development as a club,” continued Krösche. “We’re really looking forward to returning to the USA this summer and being able to showcase ourselves to fans of Eintracht and football in general there. We’re also looking forward to returning to Louisville, where we felt very happy and welcome last year, and spending a few days in Philadelphia – a city with a long football history, Frankfurt’s sister city and one of the host cities of the 2026 World Cup. It’s going to be a great end to the training camp.”

Eintracht are working closely on the upcoming trip with the DFL Deutsche Fußball Liga, which is constantly expanding the visibility of the Bundesliga and its clubs in the USA as part of its international marketing strategy.

Frankfurt mayor Mike Josef added: “The anniversary match between Eintracht Frankfurt and Philadelphia Union to mark ten years as sister cities is fantastic. I’m delighted to see Eintracht Frankfurt breathing life into the partnership between our cities and, as one of the main poster boys of our own city, making such a success of the partnership on a sporting level.”

The day after their arrival, Dino Toppmöller’s team will get to work on the training pitch in Louisville. Like last summer, they will train at the Lynn Family Sports Vision & Training Center, a state-of-the-art sports facility in central Louisville and home of the Louisville City FC men’s team and Racing Louisville FC women’s side. Sporting director Timmo Hardung is delighted with the “exceptional facilities” at the highly modern complex in the centre of the city, adding: “Conditions at the Lynn Family Sports Vision & Training Center in Louisville are ideal for us to take the next steps in our summer preparations and ready ourselves as best we can for the challenges of the 2025/26 season.”

At 19:30 local time on Tuesday 29 July, Eintracht will take on hosts and USL Championship side Louisville City FC at the Lynn Family Stadium before travelling to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on 30 July.

In the sports-obsessed home state of reigning Super Bowl champions Philadelphia Eagles, Toppmöller’s charges will train at Subaru Park before taking on MLS outfit Philadelphia Union at 17:30 local time on Saturday 2 August.

Eintracht were supported in the identification of opponents and organisation of friendlies by MatchIQ.

“The game against Philadelphia Union is an acid test for us at the end of our training camp, and one which we’re really looking forward to,” continued Hardung. “A trip like this also has its difficulties, but the players are used to those from playing every three days in the league and Europa League.”

Eintracht will return home the day after their second and final friendly of the Frankfurt U.S. Tour.
