It also saw him become the Scotland international with the best scoring record in Serie A history with 11 goals, surpassing the 10 achieved by Denis Law in the 1961-62 campaign for Torino.

On top of that, he is the first Scottish midfielder to reach double figures in one of the big five Leagues since Charlie Adam for Blackpool with 12 in the 2010-11 season.
