The five players that could depart Ipswich Town this summer amid the threat of relegation to the Championship

Ipswich Town are heading back to the Championship at the first time of asking.

Kieran McKenna’s side have fought valiantly to remain in the Premier League, but look to have fallen just short, with the team sitting 18th in the table.

The recent 2-1 loss to Wolves put them in a difficult position, and it’s increasingly likely they will be relegated before we reach the final fixture in the season.

This means it could be a busy summer ahead at Portman Road, as the club will surely want to fight for promotion straight back to the top flight, but there could also be a number of departures as well.

Liam Delap

Liam Delap signed for Ipswich last summer following their promotion to the Premier League.

The forward has performed well in the top flight, which has led to speculation over his future at Portman Road.

According to the Guardian, the forward has a £30 million relegation release clause amid interest from Chelsea and Manchester United.

Given his performances this season, it's very possible this clause will be triggered and a sale will come to fruition.

Axel Tuanzebe

Axel Tuanzebe signed for Ipswich as a free agent in the summer of 2023 following their promotion from League One.

The defender has proven a useful figure for the Tractor Boys, displaying a versatility that has seen him feature regularly over the last two years.

However, his contract is set to expire in the summer, and it is unclear what the future holds as we approach the final weeks of the campaign.

While his injury record is a concern, it's possible he will attract a number of suitors this summer amid free agency.

Cameron Burgess

Cameron Burgess was an important part of the squad for their back-to-back promotions, joining the club in 2021.
