While the frontline of Robert Lewandowski, Lamine Yamal, and Raphinha has received most of the plaudits for their goalscoring form this season, the heartbeat of Hansi Flick’s midfield, Pedri, has also been essential for FC Barcelona.
The Canarian is having one of the best seasons of his career at 22 years of age, as he seems to have gotten over the physical problems that hampered him in recent years. Although he has scored 5 goals and provided 7 assists in 42 matches so far this season, his impact on the pitch goes beyond just these numbers.
There is no doubt that he is one of the most important players in this Barcelona squad, and he also enjoys a similar status in the Spanish national team, with which he is currently training in the March international break.

One of his teammates in this national team camp will be the former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who is currently playing for the Turkish side Galatasaray.
As Mundo Deportivo has reported, the Spanish striker shared his thoughts on Pedri and highlighted how his nature as a human being helps get the best out of his teammates. In this regard, the striker said:
“Pedri is super selfless… Pedri is a great teammate. When Ferran gets injured, Pedri is always there for him, making sure he’s happy. He’s incredibly selfless.”
Pedri shows his altruistic nature quite visibly on the pitch, as he rarely tries to go for glory, and always looks to think about the greater good of the team.
However, as Morata commented, this quality is also on display in his interactions with his teammates, and this also ultimately helps his team by helping underperforming teammates regain their confidence.
Thus, in addition to being a top footballer, Morata explained how Pedri is also a top human being, and Barcelona are truly blessed to have him in their ranks.
