Wolverhampton Wanderers have signed Matheus Cunha on a long-term contract extension despite heavy interest during the winter transfer window.

Even with his new deal, speculation about his future hasn’t gone away. Cunha has been a key figure for Wolves, excelling in multiple attacking roles and making a significant impact.

According to Fichajes, the Brazilian has adapted seamlessly, whether playing as an attacking midfielder, second striker, or center-forward, attracting interest from Arsenal, Chelsea, and Paris Saint-Germain.

Wolves value Cunha highly, but reports suggest they could entertain offers over €70 million. Sky Sports News previously reported that Nottingham Forest made a club-record bid of around £60 million for him in January.

TEAMtalk reported Monday that Arsenal, Liverpool, and Nottingham Forest have set their sights on Cunha, who is expected to leave Wolves this summer for a significant fee.

Moreover, the report claims the Brazilian forward has a £62 million release clause in his contract, but it only applies to clubs that qualify for the Champions League.

Wolves anticipate the clause will be triggered, paving the way for Cunha’s departure. The TEAMtalk adds Liverpool, Arsenal, and Forest are on course for Champions League qualification, currently sitting first, second, and third in the Premier League.
