An insight into the predicted plans of Barcelona head coach for the club’s upcoming meeting with Real Madrid has on Thursday been provided.

The latest edition of El Clásico is of course set to play out later this month.

With silverware on the line in the finale of the Copa del Rey, Barcelona and Real Madrid will make the trip to La Cartuja, in Seville.

The former have enjoyed an altogether more positive time of things in the buildup to the clash, still going strong in the Champions League, and leading Los Blancos in the La Liga title race by four points.

Playing a leading role in as much over recent weeks has been Fermín López, who, in the absence of Dani Olmo, has been afforded starts in five of Barca’s last six fixtures.

And if the latest word stemming from the media is anything to go by, then the 21-year-old looks likely to be rewarded for his endeavours by way of another start in El Clásico.

As per Diario Sport, amid his ongoing battle for places with compatriot Gavi:

‘Today Fermín seems to be the favourite to occupy the attacking midfield spot in the Copa del Rey final on April 26.’
